Your guide will be at the meeting point wearing a black cap with the “Walk Brisbane” logo.
How many people are on the tour?
All tours have a maximum of eight people.
Can we book on the day?
Bookings are essential, online bookings can be made up to 5pm the evening before the tour, subject to availability. To keep our numbers small and on time we don’t accept walk ups.
What should I wear?
Comfortable shoes that you can walk in for three hours. Sunscreen. A hat. Sunglasses. An umbrella (if it looks like rain). A couple of thin layers from June to August.
How far will we walk?
The City Essentials Tour and Art + Design Tour are about 3 kilometres / 2 miles long with a couple of opportunities for a quick sit down and toilet break.
The Brisbane CBD is quite flat with some long gentle rises that you’ll hardly notice.
The Laneways Café Tour and Small Bars of the Valley Tour are about 1.5km / 1 mile of walking and lots of sitting, with toilets at every venue.
How much food will we eat?
The Laneways Café Tour and Small Bars of the Valley include snacks to keep you going, but aren’t a full meal. If you like your food, have a bite to eat beforehand.
The evening tours finish at a venue where you can order dinner or we can point you to a great place close by within your budget.
Can children come along?
The tours aren’t aimed at children, but interested children aged 12 and over are welcome on the City Essentials Tour and Art + Design Tour. Prices are the same as adults.
The itinerary does not suit prams/strollers but if you have a baby who is likely to sleep through in a front pack, they are most welcome.
Small Bars of the Valley and the Laneways Café Tour are for guests aged 18+ only.
Are tours wheelchair friendly?
The City Essentials Tour and Art + Design Tour are fine for wheelchair users. We can adjust the Laneways Café Tour for wheelies, please email us when booking to advise. Small Bars of the Valley unfortunately includes a number of venues with stairs.
What happens in wet weather?
Brisbane is blessed with great weather and tours go ahead in most weather conditions. If we need to cancel a tour due to weather events we will:
email and / or ring you ahead of the start time
provide a full refund or chance to reschedule
If I miss the tour I booked, can I just show up for another one?
No, your booking is only valid for the tour you booked at the time of purchase.
Changes and Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel, the following refund policy applies:
More than 72 hours in advance: full refund less $10 admin fee per person. Please email us to cancel.
Less than 72 hours in advance: No refund available.
If you need to change your tour day, the following applies:
More than 24 hours in advance: changes can be made by email or telephone, subject to availability. No fees apply.
The change is only confirmed when you have received a confirmation email from Walk Brisbane.
