Good Food month has landed in Brisbane!

Good Food Regional Flavours

It’s that time of year again when all-things-culinary take the main stage in Brisbane city. We are spoilt for choice with Good Food Month  taking place throughout July/early August, and also the always popular Regional Flavours festival being held at South Bank Parklands over the weekend of July 21 – 22.

To tempt you, we’d like to discuss what is happening and where we personally think you should be directing your attention.

Night Noodle Markets

Let’s begin with the Night Noodle Markets in South Bank – one of the most highly anticipated events of this festival.

Good Food Regional FlavoursThe markets take place from 25 July to 5 August. South bank is transformed into a sea of hawker-style Asian food stalls featuring both familiar dishes and specially crafted new fare from a range of vendors. You’ll see the Bao Brothers, Bangkok Street Food, Little Red Dumpling, The Waygu…and the list goes on. The markets are now cash-free, so no queuing at the ATM! This deserves a round of applause.

Italian Cuisine

For carb and/or Italian lovers (don’t deny it!), we recommend you check out the Pasta Party, happening on Thursday 12 July.  For three hours you will indulge in a four course meal cooked up by the biggest and best in Italian cooking – Monty Koludrovic (Icebergs Dining Room & Bar, Sydney) and Brisbane’s own Bucci owner Danielle Dixon (also MasterChef contestant – yes we are bragging!).

The event takes place at Bucci in Fortitude Valley and will of course involve wine. Definitely worth sending a text to some friends .

Leisurely Lunch!

Lastly, don’t forget the Let’s Do Lunch series that takes place as part of the Good Food festivities.

Various restaurants around Brisbane have curated special lunch menus at a discounted price that will run for the month of July only. For example, OTTO Brisbane will be serving their classic dish of market fish and eggplant with a glass of wine on Monday- Thursday July for $38 all inclusive.

Laneways and Cafes

In celebration of Good Food Month, we also want to invite you to come and join us on one of our Laneways and Cafe walking tours – the perfect pairing to a day of indulgent culinary experiences. We wander the streets of Brisbane and visit hidden laneway cafes each with their own personality and specialties. We will also give you tips on all the local hotspots for the best food and drinks on offer – and you will of course be sampling delicious beverages as you go. Read more and book here!
